Une résistance aux éclaboussures IPX1 avec un objectif tropicalisé, suffisante pour une averse, pas pour un orage. Un écran tactile orientable de 3 pouces, une prise micro 3,5 mm, de la vidéo 4K à 30 images par seconde et du C4K à 24, du Full HD à 120. Et un prix : 999 euros nu, 1 099 euros avec le zoom 14-42 mm F3.5-5.6 III, soit 200 euros sous le PEN-F de 2016 à son lancement. Aux États-Unis, c'est 999,99 dollars nu et 1 299,99 dollars en double kit avec le 40-150 mm. Ce qu'il ne fait pas, DPReview l'a déjà listé dans un test publié le jour de l'annonce : la vidéo reste en 8 bits, les cartes SD sont limitées à l'UHS-I, l'USB est en 2.0, et surtout l'autofocus est jugé daté, avec une reconnaissance de sujet qui prend parfois le dessus sur le collimateur choisi. Face à un Ricoh GR IV à focale fixe, dont l'édition anniversaire limitée à 6 000 exemplaires est passée dans nos pages cet été, le PEN offre un viseur, une stabilisation bien supérieure et l'accès à tout le parc Micro 4/3, Panasonic compris ; il perd en compacité dès qu'on monte autre chose que le 14-42 rétractable.
